As the saying goes, with great power comes great responsibility and so we need to ensure that we are equipped with the knowledge, people skills and excellent customer service to help a customer’s dreams / wishes become a reality.
This means that we take learning very seriously at Pentravel. Our training is always relevant and of a high standard. We look for new ideas and ways to make training better and more fun, to equip our consultants to do what they do best – deliver exceptional service and tons of great advice to their clients.
Our consultants have the freedom to learn at their own pace and are able to do so anywhere! They can even learn while in the shop environment, which is a wonderful way of building relationships with their colleagues. The other benefit of E-Learning is that it frees up some time for our trainers to be able to do shop visits and support new consultants who completed their training in store.

As a travel consultant, you are the expert, and clients are eager to hear what you have to say and to guide them through ideas and considerations for their trip as well as the booking process.
We equip our consultants with as much as possible to build the foundation for their career. This includes:
- How to sell holidays and certain destinations to clients with a big focus on creating a great experience for our clients
- Product training with our marketing partners
- Sales training – we have our very special sales training called Pulse.
- Destination training
- System training on our internal systems, as well as Amadeus
- Visa training
We also encourage self-study, to be curious about the world around you. The more you know, the more confident you will be in helping our clients.
As part of our on-going training, we offer on-hand training in store, so after a consultant completes their initial training and passes their assessment, we don’t just leave them to fumble through on their own. Once the on-boarding training is complete, that’s where the magic happens. We ensure that our new consultants are well supported in their journey to success, celebrating first bookings and reaching targets but also growing confidence!

New team members can look forward to building those all-important relationships with their colleagues, our clients and marketing partners. Exciting in store trainings, fun themed interactive training sessions and lots more.
Successful Pentravel consultants are hardworking, they persevere, are tenacious, take on challenges and learn from mistakes. They believe in themselves and are confident in their abilities.
Here are our tips for a successful applicant’s career in terms of training.
- Our training is quite intense and we like doing it this way as we want to give you the best foundation to build your amazing career on.
- It can be a stressful process but stay positive! You will have the other consultants in your store, your shop manager and training to help you through.
- Always ask questions if you are unsure of anything; the more the better!
- It is important to try and implement everything you learn during your training process, so make notes!
- Sign up for training sessions with suppliers – it’s the best way to learn and you can never have too much training.
- Put in some time form your side to learn more about destinations. Having excellent product and destination knowledge will help you in your career so invest the time.
- Build great relationships with suppliers!
