To be a member of our team you don’t even necessarily have to have had prior travel work experience. However, you do need to be passionate about travel, and you must have travelled internationally. You will need to have at least 18 months prior work experience (in any field) and have achieved results in previous roles. A tertiary qualification in any field is an advantage as it shows you can start and finish something. The kind of individual who is driven by success and who shares their success with others, who thrives on a challenge, is not afraid of hard work and who appreciates being richly rewarded and recognised for their achievements is a Pentravel Person.

About the Job

MAKE LOADS & LOADS OF MOOLAH 

At the heart of Pentravel, is a highly incentivised approach to sales in which entrepreneurs flourish. Most of the income earned by our Travel Advisors is made up of Incentive commission. In your first month earnings will not exceed R7 000, but all training is paid for by Pentravel. In month 2 to 4, expect to earn R8 000 to R10 000, and thereafter there is no limit to what you can earn. We always say ‘it’s not about the money, money, money…’ but many consultants have earned R100 000 in one month. Proof that you can write your salary cheque.

HOLIDAYS & LEAVE PAY

And just because you’re earning commission, it doesn’t mean you’ll never be able to take a well-deserved break. Pentravel IS THE ONLY RETAIL COMPANY that has a variable leave pay policy, which means you can go on leave knowing your holiday will not impact your commission earnings and leave you out of pocket. We want you to enjoy your leave, which incidentally starts at 15 days to a maximum of 20 days after five years within the business, and will ensure you are paid a monthly commission average of the past three months during your leave month.

Travel Incentives

Educational Travel

Pentravel are the only retail leisure travel company who still believe it is vitally important for our Travel Advisors to experience a product or destination first-hand. We invest significantly in staff travel as part of our strategy of going from Travel Agent to Travel Expert. Although educational trips don’t always happen every year, it is not impossible to travel three to four times a year, if you achieve an incentive, are invited on an educational trip, attend Penpalace or a conference, or win one of the travel awards. We employ people who love to travel and make no excuses about it.

The Club

The Club are Pentravel’s top achievers, the Best of the Best, who achieve extraordinary and outstanding results within the year. Some of our new Advisors achieve Club status in their second or third years, but generally it can take up to four years to reach this level. Once you have joined the Club you will never want to leave… After a year of hard work, the reward is a holiday for you and your partner in a tropical destination or even a ski resort. Winners travel as a group with a manager who hosts them on this once in a lifetime luxury holiday. The Club has been hosted in Phuket by Club Med, in Mauritius by Beachcomber, in the Maldives by LUX, in Greece and Santorini by Insight Vacations, and most recently in Val Thorens, France by Club Med.

Highclimbers

Highclimbers is an individual incentive where Travel Advisors compete with no one other than themselves. Our Highclimbers are the achievers whose sales have grown in the year.

Our 1st Highclimbers went to Africa’s highest mountain, Kilimanjaro. These achievers took our flag to the top of the world, and in so doing established Highclimbers as pioneers who are not afraid to challenge themselves at work or on their adventurous travels. Since then they have explored Machu Picchu in South America and the Grand Canyon in North America, The Pyramids of Egypt, and the Great Wall of China.

Conferences

As a network of shops based all over the country, we believe it is vitally important to come together to strategise and learn more about our business, get to know one another, and have some fun. Every staff member has these get-togethers annually.

Our newies come together at the annual newiecruise, there is a Travel Advisor and a Travel Expert conference, a prestigious Elite gathering, and a serious think tank where our Managers get together to talk about our business.

Fan Club

We have our regional awards evenings approximately every two months, where consultants and teams in each region are recognised for outstanding achievement. This is an opportunity for Travel Advisors to take advantage of an evening together with colleagues, while learning about exciting new travel products. Annual Travel Awards

Amazing travel prizes sponsored by key suppliers, are launched in January of each year. Travel Advisors fight it out throughout the year to win one of many once in a lifetime travel opportunities. Some of the prizes include air tickets on all major airlines, package holidays to tropical destinations and ski resorts, cruises, guided and adventure holidays. The winners of these awards are announced at the glittering PenPalace each year.
